Commify, the European leader in business messaging solutions to Local Enterprises, has today announced its expansion in the French market with the acquisition of Nice-based SMSFactor (www.smsfactor.com). The acquisition is Commify’s 17th since 2013, but the first under ECI’s investment to support its ambitious and long-term growth plans.

SMSFactor, founded in 2010, is highly complementary to Commify, as a long-standing provider of messaging solutions to Local Enterprise customers in France. The business has delivered growth of over 20% in recent years, reaching over €6 million revenue and serving 3,500 loyal customers, won and grown through best-in-class digital marketing and exceptional local service.

We are delighted to be strengthening our position in the French market” said Richard Hanscott, CEO of Commify. “SMSFactor has an experienced team and an outstanding customer base. We are excited to work together to drive further success and long-term growth, complementing their first-class local go-to-market strategy with Commify’s ever expanding global product set.”

Sébastien Magliolo, CEO and Founder of SMSFactor comments: “I am very proud of everything we have achieved at SMSFactor, and am happy for our team to finally be joining forces with Commify. It is a great time to come together as Commify shares our view of the market opportunity in the Local Enterprise segment and can bring exciting new channels such as WhatsApp and Rich Communication Services to SMSFactor’s customers.”

Paul Burton, Chief Strategy Officer of Commify added: “We have long admired how Sébastien has built and grown SMSFactor, in particular investing in a class leading local service model. It’s also great to announce our first acquisition with ECI’s investment – we have a strong pipeline and are excited to add more high-quality businesses to the Commify family.”

SMSFactor was advised by Adventus Partners as exclusive financial advisor and Askesis as legal counsel. Commify was advised by Grant Thornton for financial and tax due diligence, PWC for commercial due diligence, S-RM for cyber security due diligence, EY for tax structuring and Squire Patton Boggs as legal counsel.
